After their successful expansion in Bright, Georges Pharmacy opened a new store in Milan in 2014. Their 3rd store in Ripley County, Milan is their 5th store overall, joining Bright, Versailles, Sunman, and Brookville for the locally-owned business. The Milan store is located near the intersection of and State Roads 350 and 101, and is right next door to the Dearborn County Hospital Milan Primary Care facility.
George’s was founded by George Gillman, who purchased the long-time Brookville business Reidman Pharmacy in 1985. In recent years George’s has expanded from Brookville, opening their Sunman location in 2007, Versailles in 2011, and Bright in 2013. George’s is truly a family-run business, with two of George’s sons, Blake and Trent, also working for the company.
“We are very excited about this opportunity in Milan,” says Blake Gillman. “We are committed to serving the people of southeastern Indiana as best we can, and our store in Milan will not only help us serve Milan residents, but provide additional support to our Sunman and Versailles customers, as well as additional service to rural residents of Ripley and Dearborn Counties.”
Service is a hallmark of George’s Pharmacy. Focusing on friendly and personal contact, George’s is known for offering free delivery of prescriptions and medical equipment everywhere in southeastern Indiana, and into Ohio and Kentucky. George’s has already been delivering to many people in and around Milan from their Sunman and Versailles stores.
“Delivering prescriptions to the home is not only convenient for the customer, but might very well be necessary if a person is sick or unable to drive themselves,” says Trent Gillman. “Add into that winter weather, especially with a winter like we just had, and the George’s delivery service becomes very useful to the customers who use it. We’re happy to provide the service.”
The location is near the intersection of State Roads 350 and 101, in the new building that houses Subway, and the Dearborn County Hospital Milan Primary Care facility. And as with all George’s locations, Milan has a drive-up window.
“We can’t thank the community enough for supporting us the years,” says George. “The response to our store in Bright, has been overwhelming, as well as in Versailles and Sunman-- we can’t thank everyone enough for supporting our new stores.”
In addition to being a pharmacy, George’s sells durable medical equipment like power chairs, lift chairs, and hospital beds. They also offer 24 hour respiratory services, delivering oxygen, concentrators, and other items needed for respiratory care.
