Position Overview and Responsibilities:

We are rapidly growing and have an opening for a Revenue Cycle Specialist. This position can be primarily out of any of our Indiana locations. Hours of operation are M-F 8:30am-4:30pm, occasional Saturdays may be required as needed.

We are looking for candidates with excellent customer service skills, effective communication and professionalism. Other requirements include: prior experience with revenue cycle, including but not limited to waiver, collections, denials and appeals.

The Revenue Cycle Specialist communicates with payors to resolve issues and facilitate prompt payment of claims. The Revenue Cycle Specialist follows up with insurance companies to collect outstanding accounts for which payment has not been received in response to the claim's submission process, either electronically or by paper. Candidates must be able to effectively identify and resolve demographic and insurance errors as well as possess an understanding of claims submission requirements for payors in order to expedite payments as well as knowledge of appeals and rejections processes to resolve standard issues.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate revenue cycle activities with a goal of maximizing reimbursement in a cost-effective manner that is in compliance with federal, state and payor-specific billing requirements.
  • Timely data entry and payment posting contributing to accurate billing and accounts receivable activity/results reporting, including performance metrics, bad debt expense and AR days outstanding.
  • Manage reimbursement from all sources, including carrier reimbursement exception reporting and follow up pending claims analysis and denials management.
  • Contribute to the department goals on meeting key productivity metrics.

DAY TO DAY:

  • The position supports processes encompassing all aspects of the revenue cycle, including but not limited to reimbursement related analysis, claim submission, account follow-up, denial management, patient customer service, and underpayments recovery.
  • The position will work with the manager to establish and monitor individual goals related to overall department goals, objectives and tactical plan consistent with the organizational strategic plan and vision.
  • This individual must work effectively as a team member utilizing effective problem-solving skills and intra departmental relationships.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of revenue cycle experience preferably with Pharmaceuticals and Durable Medical Equipment.
  • 1+ years data entry experience preferably using Brightree software.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare A/R, collections, insurance, government programs and appeals including Compliance Regulations and Guidelines.
